I wasn’t going to lie. My brain was certainly working overtime with all of the possibilities that Logan was going to do to me when we got home. And since vehicle sex was out, I was certainly leaning toward wall sex. For starters.

I heard a noise, and when I turned and looked toward my husband, he was shaking. It took my brain way too long to figure out that he was quietly laughing.

“Well, the night is still really young, and I’m not sure yet how well either of us is going to react to the twins being gone, but I trust your dads just as much as I would my own parents. Boone and Cait have volunteered multiple times to keep them for us, but I feel bad about that. They have a busy enough household without two crawling one-year-olds added.”

“Yeah, I love our nieces, and I’m honestly looking forward to the twins being a little more mobile, but I know I’m going to miss the furniture-surfing-only stage.”

“Just like with anything, we’ll work through it. I turn forty early next year, and I’m not sure I will want to go through this again in a few more years, so I’m just trying to enjoy every moment with them the best I can.”

I knew he couldn’t see me because it was inky black outside, and the only light was coming from the dashboard, but I gave Logan a panicked look. “Oh hell no. I love our babies. Love them. To pieces. Adore them even. But no, I don’t want to do this again. I’m sorry if you thought that I was going to want more because, no. I’m good. Two is enough, and I’m good.”

Logan laughed again and reached for my hand. When I laced our fingers together, he gave my hand a tight squeeze, and then he brought it up to his mouth and kissed my wedding ring. That was something that I always found endearing, and it made my heart flutter.
